What is Self Publishing?

A publishing project where an author pays for the costs of manufacturing and selling his or her own book and retains all money from the book's sale. This can be immensely profitable (especially when combined with an author's speaking engagements or imaginative marketing techniques); in addition, if successful, self-publication can lead to distribution or publication by a commercial publisher.

Does A Books Mind offer payment plans?

Yes. Depending on the package you chose, we're able to split the payments to help our authors. Check our special offers for discounts.

What is Distribution?

Distribution is the process that gets your books into stores, theoretically. Strong distribution does not ensure that a bookstore will elect to stock your title. Due to shelf space, all bookstores and business have the ability to chose which books they will keep in stock. We do our best to market you book for distribution in large book chains.

Am I selling my own book?

Yes. You sell your book by any means you have. With our marketing and publishing packages, we supply you with a website with an online store front via PayPal. When a book is purchased from your site, you receive 100% of the funds, and you ship the book out. With A Book's Mind, you receive marketing tools to help you sell more books, even printed material.

Does A Book Mind help sell my book?

Yes. Besides the sales you receive from your own site, we advertise our site and sell your book from ABooksMart.com, Amazon.com, Borders.com, and BarnesandNobles.com. When we sell your book you receive 60% of the profit after printing cost. When we sell your books from our site, or the sites listed, we pay for the POD printing of those books. You'll receive a paycheck every monts for the royalties on books sold.

Do I (the author) pay for my books to be printed?

Yes, when you are selling books on your own you pay to have them printed and keep 100% of the profit. There are two ways to print your book, Print On Demand and Offset printing. With Print On Demand you can print only the books you've sold, or print any number between 1 and 1,000, at any time you need them. We recommend keeping at least 50 books on hand to speed up the shipping process when customers buy your book. With Offset printing you are required to print larger amounts of books, with a minimum of 1,000.

What is Print On Demand?

Print On Demand (POD) is a technology of printing that allows you to print smaller amounts of books at reasonable prices. POD is the best way to print if you do not have a lot of money on hand to have your book printed.

What is Offset Printing?

Offset printing is less expensive per unit printed, but orders must be at least 1,000. Generally the higher volume you print the less each united printed costs. Offset printing also allows for printing of hard cover.

How do you publish a book?

If you have your manuscript complete, or close to complete, we can start creating your book. Sign up for one of our publishing packages and in as little as 4 weeks you can have your published book in hand. We will walk you through every step of the way.

How to publish an ebook?

All of our publishing services come with ebook formatting. With ebook formatting you'll receive your book for PDF and ePub formats. The benefit of ebook publishing is that you don't have to pay for production or shipping of your book, whatever price you set on your web site is the amount you'll be making on each sale.
