To submit your short story

Send your short story as part of your email or attach a Word Document to info@abooksmind.com, with the subject line: Short Story - Your Story Title. Download or brochure to learn more about A Book's Mind.

 

Rules

  • Stories must be under 2,000 words for consideration.

 

  • Please only 1 submission per month.

 

  • Stories may be any genre, but only winners that have suitable content will be posted on our site.

 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older by August 1, 2011 to win.

 

  • Entries must be submitted by July 15, 2011.

 

Short story contest details

One short story will be selected every two weeks as our "favorite short story," and will be featured on our blog. In addition to receiving credit on our site, the selected short story will receive a link to their web site and/or the authors contact information (if desired). Winning authors will also receive a custom banner graphic for their short story and web flyer promoting their short story. View our short story winners.

Short story contest winner

We will be taking submissions untill July 15, 2011. August 1, 2011, we will pick our favorite short story of the year. The grand prize winner will receive our Complete Publishing & Web Marketing Package, a value of $3,499. The publishing package includes full publishing, custom cover, custom interior, editing, distribution, your own web site with blog and storefront, and web marketing material. Second place will receive $800 off any publishing package. Third place will receive $300 off any publishing package.

 

In addition to the 3 main contest prizes, we will be sending out random prizes throughout the contest.

 

The contest holds no cash value unless one of the winning authors elects to purchase a publishing package before August 1st, 2011, they will be reimbursed the prize amount.*

 

 

* In the case of the grand prize winner, the author will be reimbursed up to $3,499, not to exceed the actual purchase price. The second place winner will be reimbursed $500 and the third place winner will be reimbursed $300.
